Antelope deadline Friday

Kansas residents who want to hunt antelope have until Friday to submit applications for a permit.

Firearms hunters must have their applications postmarked to the Wildlife and Parks operations office in Pratt by Friday’s deadline.

An unlimited number of resident archery permits will be available over the counter, and it has been estimated about 125 hunters will apply for these permits.

Archery season will run Sept. 24 to Oct. 2 and again from Oct. 15-31. Firearms season is scheduled for Oct. 7-10 and muzzleloader season will be Oct. 3-10.

Antelope permits are available to residents only. A general resident permit costs $46, and a landowner-tenant permit is $26. This includes a $5 non-refundable service fee.

Antelope application forms can be obtained from local Wildlife and Parks offices and area vendors, or downloaded from www.kdwp.state.ks.us.
