Liberalism
To the editor:
I recall a fuss last year when conservatives were decrying the liberal bent in American colleges. The complaint was that some large majority of college professors were liberals. The subject came to mind again as I read the Journal-World article last week about pastors in Lawrence, which included statements to the effect that Lawrence was viewed as liberal due to the university being here. It made me wonder, does one become liberal as they become better educated, or does one seek higher learning because they are liberal? Just wondering.
