CLINTON (Updated 7-20) – Water 82 degrees and 2.03 feet above normal pool. White bass fair throwing crankbaits or jigs into surfacing schools of shad. Calm days early morning and late evening are best times. Channel catfish good on liver, shad and shrimp. Chumming with soybeans working, too. Notes: A 10-inch minimum length limit and 20 daily creel limit on crappie, and an 18-inch minimum length limit on wiper went into effect Jan. 1.

PERRY (updated 7-15) – Water 82 degrees and 2.2 feet above normal pool. Channel catfish fair to good. Fish eating shad. Feeders are in and working from 7-8 a.m., noon and 7-8 p.m. Hog trough is smoking. Sauger fair to good on rocky points on west side toward the dam on crankbaits, twisters. White bass fair on rocky points, twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows at 12-15 feet. Note: Shad are about a half-inch long and will be growing fast. It looks like shad had great spawn.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 7-20) – All species slow.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 7-20) – Bluegill good using worms under bobber around weedbeds and feeders. Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, shad, large minnows and stinkbait. Largemouth bass good with most fish being caught on plastic worms, jigs and large shiners. Note: Aeration system running. Feeders operational.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 7-20) – Largemouth bass fair using spinnerbaits, crankbaits and plastic jigs and worms. Bluegill fair using worms under bobber. Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, liver, stinkbait or minnows. Wiper poor with an occasional one caught using liver fished on bottom.
