Marona Le Graham-Bailey and Bria Nicole DeSalvo, both of Lawrence, made the dean’s list for the spring 2005 semester at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn., by earning at least a 3.5 grade-point average.

¢ Jill Ebmeier, Overland Park, received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Emporia State University in May. She teaches vocal music at Briarwood Elementary School in Olathe. She is the daughter of Howard and Cathy Ebmeier, Lawrence.

¢ Chandra Shenoy, Chelsey Roos and Erin Schelar, all Free State High School graduates, made the dean’s list at Washington University in St. Louis by earning at least a 3.5 grade-point average during the spring semester. Shenoy is the daughter of Catherine and Prakash Shenoy, Lawrence. Roos is the daughter of Barbara Roos and Kenneth Johannes, Lawrence. Schelar is the daughter of Judy and William Schelar, Lawrence.

¢ Sarah Shapiro, a Lawrence High School graduate, has been named to the merit list at Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, for the second semester by earning at least a 3.45 grade-point average. She is the daughter of Sidney and Joyce Shapiro, Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly of Lawrence.

¢ Michelle Colgan, Lawrence, is among 10 members of the American Junior Simmental Assn. to receive the prestigious ASA Merit Award. She received the Silver Award, which includes a $750 stipend to be used for post-secondary educational purposes.

Colgan, a member of the American Junior Simmental Assn., has served the association on all levels including local, state and national. While at the 25th AJSA National Classic, she was elected to serve on the AJSA board of trustees. Michelle is a recent graduate of Lawrence High School where she served as FFA Chapter president. Colgan is serving her third term as president of the Kansas Junior Simmental Assn., and in 2004 she represented Kansas at the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.

¢ Patrick Krivoshia, Lawrence, has been elected into Phi Beta Kappa, a national honor society, at Williams College, Williamston, Mass.

¢ Damon Hanshaw, Lawrence, attended Level 1 of the Future Astronaut Training Program June 26-July 1 at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson. Hanshaw will enter eighth grade at South Junior High School in the fall.

The week-long program incorporates astronaut training with briefings on subjects ranging from how the body reacts to spaceflight to principles of rocketry. Campers also receive up-to-date human spaceflight news. The nationally-recognized camp strives to motivate and inspire careers in space-related industries.

¢ Kate Nielsen graduated in May from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication disorders and Spanish. She was on the president’s list for achieving a 4.0 grade-point average for the 2004-2005 academic year and will begin her graduate studies in speech language pathology at Kansas University in the fall. Nielsen, a 2001 Free State High School graduate, is the daughter of Niels and Diane Nielsen.

¢ Andrew William Schneider, Lawrence, recently graduated cum laude from Illinois State University.

¢ Jonathan Dollar and Kimberly Penny, both former Free State High School students, made the dean’s list during the spring semester at Fort Lewis College by earning at least a 3.4 grade-point average.

¢ James and Terri Tullis, Tonganoxie, are the parents of a son, Collin Richard Tullis. Collin was born July 6, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

¢ Kelsey Consolver, 10, daughter of Dan and Ronda Consolver, recently competed in the Miss Kansas Junior Pre-Teen pageant. Kelsey placed as a Top 10 finalist in the pageant. The competition was July 8 and 9 at the Overland Park Marriott.

¢ Yu-Hsiang Sam Lee received a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Kansas City, Mo., in May. Lee is the son of Jong-Shing and Mei-Hui, Lawrence. He is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2000 graduate of Kansas University. Lee will complete a postdoctoral residency in family medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

¢ Jessica Foulke, Lawrence, is interning with the Kansas Democratic Party in Topeka this summer. She is a sophomore at McPherson College.
