Pittsburg ? The Lawrence Raiders escaped a long day of baseball with a 2-0 mark at the Legion Zone Tournament, beating Overland Park, 7-5, and Pittsburg, 12-11.

The Raiders rallied from an 8-4 deficit against Pittsburg in the nightcap thanks to a two-run home run and a three-run double by Jake Hoover. He also shut the door on Pittsburg to earn the save.

The Raiders (30-6) will play for a state-tournament berth at 5 p.m. Monday, against whichever team emerges from today’s competition. Whichever team advances Monday will have to beat Lawrence twice.
