Raiders win two

? Lawrence’s Raiders stretched their American Legion baseball winning streak to 12 by winning a pair of contests Saturday.

The Raiders beat two Oklahoma teams: Oologah, 4-0, and Claremore, 10-5.

Max Ellenbecker struck out seven while allowing two hits in the first game. Jake Hoover homered and had two RBIs, and Tommy Fitzgerald had an RBI double.

Travis Blankenship had six strikeouts while working five innings of the second game. Brian Heere scored three runs, and Fitzgerald had three RBIs.

“Max set the tone in the first game, giving up two hits,” Raiders coach Kevin Tucker said. “Travis gave up three hits in the second game. Our pitching was outstanding. We’ve been pulling out games tight and winning games we should win. We’re trying to stay on a roll.”

The Raiders (25-5) will play Claremore at 1 p.m. today.
