Georgia-Alabama postponed by ice
Tuscaloosa, Ala. ? No. 14 Alabama’s game against Georgia scheduled for Saturday night was postponed until tonight because of freezing rain in Georgia.
The Bulldogs were unable to leave Atlanta because of the icy conditions. Freezing rain and sleet spread sheets of ice across parts of the Southeast, shutting down sections of every interstate highway in the metro Atlanta area and canceling hundreds of airline flights.
At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, only one of the four runways was open for much of the day.
Both teams agreed to postpone, the Southeastern Conference said.
