Highlights of Thursday’s activities at the Kansas Legislature:

  • A proposal to require the compensation agreements of all public employees to be open to the public was among changes proposed for the Kansas Open Records Act.
  • A House committee endorsed a proposed state constitutional ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions for gay couples.

The Senate Judiciary Committee postponed debate until Monday on a bill designed to combat methamphetamine manufacturing by limiting consumers’ access to some medicines.
