Tongie defense dominates Lansing girls

? Addie Heim led Tonganoxie High to its 10th girls basketball victory of the season, prevailing against Lansing, 58-36, Tuesday night in a make-up game.

Tongie (10-2) put the game away early with its stifling defense holding Lansing to just one point in the first quarter en route a 17-1 advantage.

The Chieftains will travel to Bonner Springs on Friday night.

Maur Hill 61, McLouth 44

Nortonville — Despite recording career highs in points (19) and rebounds (12) to go with three steals and three assists, Leigh Anna Thompson could not prevent McLouth from falling to 0-9.

The Bulldogs lost to Maur Hill (6-1) in the opening round of the Jefferson County North Invitational.
