Aleck Alexander, Overland Park

Mr. Alexander died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, from surgery complications.

He was born Aug. 16, 1915, in St. Basil’s, Greece, the son of Michael and Bella Mastoris Alexander. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Idaho University and Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Mr. Alexander served as a captain in the U.S. Public Health Service. He was a chemical and sanitary engineer from 1938 until he retired in 1980.

He married Pauline Lakos on June 17, 1943, in Baltimore. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Valerie Renault and Penny Weiner, both of Lawrence; a son, Michael, Overland Park; three sisters; two brothers; and four grandchildren.
