ESPN coming to KU

ESPN’s new college basketball road show, College GameDay, will make its second stop on an eight-week tour at 10 a.m. Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.

The three telecasts — 10 a.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. — will be an hour and feature host Rece Davis, analysts Jay Bilas and Digger Phelps (with special appearances by Dick Vitale) and ESPN.com’s Andy Katz. The crew will originate in the east lobby of the fieldhouse by the trophy case.

The first 40 groups of KU’s student campers will make up the studio audience for the 10 a.m. show. The 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. shows will be limited to ticketed fans for the KU-Texas game (8 p.m.).

“After the game, fans certainly can stick around,” KU associate AD Jim Marchiony said. “We’ve talked to the campers who are excited about the 10 a.m. show. “This is a good opportunity to highlight our 50th year fieldhouse celebration.”
