Crash course on hunter ed in the works

Wildlife and Parks has been authorized by the Kansas Legislature to offer a crash course in hunter education for nonresidents.

The dates and locations of the courses will be established as early in the calendar year as possible and will be posted on the state agency’s Web site — www.kdwp.state.ks.us.

Wildlife and Parks staff anticipate there will be three crash courses scheduled prior to and during the 2005 spring turkey season.

Locations of these and the fall hunting season course locations will be announced sometime soon.

The course will consist of an individual taking the International Hunter Education Assn. introduction course on the Web and participating in an instructor-led class.

The individual will bring the test results from the Web course to the instructor-led class, which will last three hours.

The course will cost $25 and is not renewable. For information, visit the agency Web site or call (620) 672-5911.
