HINU men hold on for 86-83 victory
Corey Ladson scored 34 points to lead Haskell Indian Nations University to an 86-83 men’s basketball victory Friday over Central Christian.
Ladson returned to the team at the beginning of the spring semester after being ineligible with a part-time courseload the previous semester. Haskell coach Jamie Morrison said Ladson has transformed Haskell with his offense; he scored 33 points in a loss to Peru State on Tuesday.
“He’s got a chance to play somewhere when he’s out of here,” Morrison said. “It will be interesting to see how he plays against a quality opponent like Newman.”
HINU (2-19 overall, 1-3 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference) will play host to Newman at 5 p.m. today.
