Wathena outlasts Seahawks

? Seabury Academy’s Adam Davis scored 24 points in his second game back from an ACL injury, and the Seahawks closed a 14-point deficit to two with six minutes to play but could not catch Wathena in a 54-42 loss in the consolation game of the Elwood Invitational.

“We started really slow but showed a lot of intensity in the second half,” said Seabury coach Marcus Heckman, whose squad lost its eighth straight game and fell to 1-9.

“Adam Davis really played well tonight, he led our comeback with a lot of emotion,” Heckman said. “You could tell on Tuesday night it was his first game back, but tonight was much more indicative of his ability and skill level.”

Seabury will play in the seventh-place game at 10:30 a.m. Saturday against the loser of the St. Joe Christian-Craig, Mo., game.
