Temperatures to hit upper 40s Wednesday
Lawrence finally climbed out of the arctic cellar today, as temperatures soared into the 40s. But breezy conditions kept wind chills still in the freezing range.
The weather started off chilly this morning, with an 18 degree temperature and a wind chill of 8 degrees. The temperature had climbed to 40 by 4 p.m. today, but a southwest 18-mph breeze kept the cold around — the wind chill was 31.
Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist, said that tonight, the temperature doesn’t fall as far as it had been during the last week, when the thermometer readings were in the single digits. The overnight low will be a relatively warm 28.
“That was Monday’s high temperature. Now it’s going to be Wednesday low temperature,” Schack said.
Then the 40s return again, with the high reaching 48 by Wednesday afternoon. The high temperatures for the next few days will be in the 40s, Schack said.
Thursday’s morning low will be 27, with the high reaching 47 by Thursday afternoon. Friday’s morning low will be 25, with Friday’s high reaching 46.
