Shirley Bell Snyder

? Services for Shirley Bell Snyder, 72, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Underwood Cemetery in Williamstown.

Mrs. Snyder died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Lawrence after a long illness.

She was born April 6, 1932, in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Harry and Velda D. Veda Wright Atwell. She lived in the Williamstown community near Perry since 1964 and moved to Lawrence in 2001.

Mrs. Snyder worked as a cook at Kansas University and a custodian at Perry-Lecompton High School in Perry. She also worked at Lila Pearson’s Billtown Cafe as a cook and waitress. She was a member of Perry Christian Church.

She married Raymond Lee Snyder on May 1, 1964, in Marceline, Mo., He died April 19, 1995.

A son, Dennis Pipes, died June 14, 1993.

Survivors include two grandsons, Kevin and Clint Pipes, both of Osceola, Mo.; and a granddaughter, Michelle Pipes, Clinton, Mo.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the services.
