Shaver services

Services for Wave Lucille Shaver, 94, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Presbyterian Manor Chapel in Lawrence. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mrs. Shaver died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence.

She was born June 19, 1910, in Kinsley, the daughter of Henry C. and Edna Baird Boyer. She received a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Kansas State University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Social Sorority. She had lived in Lawrence for more than 50 years.

Mrs. Shaver was a teacher in Edwards County for four years and at the Oskaloosa and McLouth high schools for five years. She and her husband owned Odell’s Instrumental Music Services in Lawrence from 1945 to 1974. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ, Chapter AZ PEO, Round Table Study Club and Douglas County Home Economics Assn. She was a volunteer for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for more than 30 years.

She married Odell Shaver on May 21, 1939, in Salina. He died in 1975.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Shaver, Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Connie Shaver, Milwaukee; a brother, Charles Boyer, Fort Dodge; and two grandchildren.

The family will meet friends at a reception after the service at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the Good Samaritan Fund at Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
