Boy Scout Troop 62, chartered to the Linwood Lions Club, went camping in November at Tall Oaks Camp. They hiked five miles using a compass and topographical map to get to their campsite. They also had to use a compass to locate their water jugs. The boys made tents out of tarps and rope. They played “Capture the Glow Stick.”

In December, the troop visited residents of a nursing home in Bonner Springs.

The Scouts handed out candy, games, puzzles and crossword puzzle books. They watched movies with the residents.

The boys also participated in the Bikes and Trikes for Tykes program last month in Kansas City, Mo.
