Frank Case, Lawrence
Services for Frank Case, 81, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Case died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Atchison, the son of A. Franklin and Margaret Willmeth Case. He graduated in 1942 from Atchison High School.
After high school he joined the Navy and served two years during World War II. He moved to Lawrence, where he owned a service station and then worked for a Ford dealership before becoming a Kansas Highway Patrolman in Manhattan in 1953 and 1954. He returned to Lawrence and worked as a car salesman for five Ford Motor Co. dealerships. He retired from Laird Noller Ford on June 30, 1993.
Mr. Case was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was past master and a member of Lawrence Lodge No. 6 AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies; York Rite Bodies; Order of the Eastern Star, where he was a past president; IOOF Lodge; Elks Lodge No. 595, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where he was past exalted ruler; Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club, where he was a past president; American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14; and the Trail Riders Club.
Mr. Case married Phyllis Goodrich on Feb. 4, 1945. They later divorced. He married Shirley Carter on Jan. 16, 1972, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Candy Teagarden, La Cygne; two sons, Mike, Lawrence, and Bob, Baldwin; a stepson, John Carter, Lawrence; two sisters, Maurine Bryce, Kansas City, Mo., and Jean Morgan, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A stepson, Avery Carter, died earlier.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Lawrence Lodge No. 6 AF&AM will conduct masonic committal services.
The family suggests memorials to the church or to Lawrence Lodge No. 6 AF&AM, sent in care of the mortuary.
