KU men’s track fourth

? Kansas University’s men’s track team placed fourth and the women eighth after the first day of the Big 12 Conference Indoor at Devaney Center.

Junior Sheldon Battle placed second in the weight throw after a heave of 65-73/4. Kansas State’s Coby Cost won in 70-1. KU’s Colin Dutton notched fifth in 62-01/4. Sophomore Barrett Saunders notched fifth in the long jump in 24-11/2.

Junior Charisse Bacchus placed third in the long jump in a school-record 20-61/4.
