Services for Elizabeth J. “Jane” Adkins, 67, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.

Mrs. Adkins died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born June 30, 1937, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles F. and Cecil Leona Brown Simons. She moved to Lawrence from Topeka in 1999.

Mrs. Adkins worked in customer service for Cla-Mar Carpet Warehouse in Topeka and retired in 1997. She was a member of American Legion Capitol Post 1, Women’s Auxiliary and the 8&40. She was also a member of bowling leagues in Topeka and Lawrence.

She married William D. Perkins on Oct. 22, 1955. They divorced in 1976. She married Leo Adkins on Dec. 9, 1979. He died in April 1982.

A daughter, Jaye Dean Sue Perkins, died in 1958.

Survivors include two daughters, Billie Archer and Kelly Perkins, both of Lawrence; a son, Charles Casey Perkins, United Arab Emirates; a sister, Carolyn Kay Verna, Topeka; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice House of Topeka or Topeka Bible Church-Youth Project, sent in care of the mortuary.
