Manhattan Veritas Christian's boys basketball squad led much of the first half but couldn't keep its advantage, falling to the Wichita Warriors, 59-44, in the KCAA Class 2A state tournament semifinal.
"We didn't shoot as well in the second half," Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. "Our shot selection was poor when we didn't get it inside."
Mark Randtke led the Eagles with 13 points, while Paul Kempf added 11.
Veritas Christian will play St. Mary's at 4:30 today in the third-place game.
The two teams split two regular-season matchups, which each went into overtime.
