Helen H. Hathaway, Brookfield, Wis.

Services for Helen H. Hathaway, 93, Brookfield, Wis., will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Services in Brookfield will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home.

She died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Care-Age Nursing Home in Brookfield.

Mrs. Hathaway was born Feb. 3, 1912, in Gower, Mo., the daughter of Benjamin and Katherine Williams Holmes.

She grew up in St. Joseph, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan., where she attended Central High School. In 1940, Mrs. Hathaway moved to Lawrence and lived here for 15 years. She also lived in Prairie Village and Chicago before returning to Lawrence. In 1999 she moved to Brookfield to be near her family.

Mrs. Hathaway was a homemaker.

She married Harold C. “Hap” Hathaway in 1937 in Sedalia, Mo. He died April 27, 1985.

Survivors include a son, H. Roger Hathaway, Pewaukee, Wis.; a daughter, Karen Kaye Szmanski, Kenosha, Wis.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials to Vitas Hospice, sent in care of Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W.
