Betty C. Jennings, Lawrence
Services for Betty C. Jennings, 79, Lawrence, will be at 12:15 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence. Rite of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wichita Park Cemetery in Wichita.
Mrs. Jennings died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at her home.
She was born July 20, 1925, in Denver, the daughter of Glenn and Wilma Schoen Cunningham. She graduated from Downs High School in 1943 and from Kansas University in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in business. She moved from Wichita to Lawrence in 1980.
Mrs. Jennings worked at Anchor Savings and Loan in Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Phi Chi Theta business women’s sorority while at KU. She was a member of Chapter HZ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Round Table Club, Kansas University Alumni Association, Trinity Episcopal Church, Douglas County Historical Society and Lawrence Preservation Alliance.
She married John Jennings Sr., on June 24, 1950, in Kansas City, Kan. He died April 18, 1999.
A son, Frank Jennings, died earlier.
Survivors include a son, John Jennings, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Elizabeth Jennings, Berkeley, Calif.; and two grandsons.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
