‘Gene’ and ‘Rosie’ Sears, Topeka

? Services for Robert E. “Gene,” 78, and Rosemary A. “Rosie” Sears, 81, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Town and Country Christian Church in Topeka. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sears died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Topeka, and Mrs. Sears died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, in Topeka.

He was born April 27, 1926, in Topeka, the son of Melvin F. and Eva C. Davis Sears.

She was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Stull, the daughter of William F. and Mildred A. Gress Wulfkuhle.

Mr. Sears served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a manager of the Skelgas propane dealership in Topeka and later Heetco propane dealership in Lawrence. He was a member of Town and Country Christian Church. He also was a member of the Kansas State Historical Society and American Legion Post No. 58.

Mrs. Sears was employed by Merchant’s National Bank until she retired in 1970. She participated in Senior Saints and Indian Hills Unit. She participated in her neighborhood Bible study group. She also a member the church.

Mr. and Mrs. Sears married Oct. 2, 1952, in Topeka.

He is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Furgason and Lorraine Escola, both of Topeka.

She is survived by two brothers, Ross Wulfkuhle, Lawrence, and George Wulfkuhle, Sun City, Ariz.; and a sister, Ina Soran, Twin Falls, Idaho.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
