Robert E. ‘Gene’ Sears, Topeka
Funeral services for Robert E. “Gene” Sears, 78, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Town and Country Christian Church in Topeka. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka.
Mr. Sears died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka
He was born April 27, 1926, in Topeka, the son of Melvin F. and Eva Corrine Davis Sears. He graduated from Napa High School in Napa, Calif.
Mr. Sears served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a manager of the Skelgas propane dealership in Topeka and later Heetco propane dealership in Lawrence.
Mr. Sears was a member of Town and Country Christian Church, the Kansas State Historical Society and American Legion Post 58.
He married Rosemary Wulfkuhle on Oct. 2, 1952, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sisters, Phyllis Furgason, Topeka, and Lorraine Escola, Topeka.
Friends may call after noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, where the family will greet them from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
