Jayhawks rout Hilo

? First baseman Jared Schweitzer stroked three hits, pacing a 14-hit attack that carried Kansas University to a 16-8 baseball victory over Hawaii-Hilo late Tuesday night.

Junior left-hander Travis Goset made his first start and limited the Vulcans to only five hits and one earned run in three innings. Sophomore Ryotaro Hayakawa picked up his first win of the season.

KU was scheduled to fly today to San Francisco, then open a three-game weekend series Friday against Stanford.
