Irene Elane Farrar Wagner, Lawrence

Services for Irene Elane Farrar Wagner, 93, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. A private inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Wagner died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at her home. She was born June 28, 1911, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Edward Harrison Farrar and Maud (Smith) Farrar.

She was a graduate and valedictorian of Shawnee Mission High School in 1929 and a graduate of the Kansas University School of Business in 1933. She worked at the family service station business as a bookkeeper. She also worked for the Kansas League of Municipalities and KU Continuing Education.

Mrs. Wagner had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1934 and a 50-plus member of the No Name Club.

She married Walter Wagner on Oct. 7, 1936, in Lawrence. He died March 26, 1989.

Survivors include a son, Roger S. Wagner, Baldwin; four daughters, Camilla L. Wagner, Ruth I. Wagner and Diana K. Rhodes, all of Lawrence, and Marie Franklin, Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sisters, Katherine Hobbs, Lawrence, and Lynette Millican, Overland Park; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
