Mr. Baird died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in Austin.
He was born July 1, 1950, in Ellsworth, the son of Chad and Ellen Darlene Baird.
Mr. Baird was a third-generation rock mason.
He married Margaret McGinnis. She survives, in Austin.
Other survivors include his mother, Manhattan; a son, Andrew, and Andrew’s mother, Debra VanSickle, Austin; a sister, Debra Ellen Fugett, Perry; four brothers, Shawn, Herrington, Shane, Salina, Scott, Orlando, Fla., and George A., Manhattan.
The family suggests memorials to the Richard Baird Memorial Fund, sent in care of First State Bank and Trust, 3901 W. Sixth St., Lawrence 66049.
