KU football loses two more commitments

Two high school football players who had planned on attending Kansas University now are backtracking and heading elsewhere.

Dustin Forston, a 5-foot-11, 208-pound linebacker out of Miami, took an unexpected visit to Mississippi this weekend and told rivals.com that he’s headed there instead. Forston committed to KU in December after visiting Lawrence.

Also, Sirod Williams, a 225-pound defensive end out of Ohio, plans to sign with Illinois on Wednesday. Williams told rivals he was planning on committing to KU last week, but never did, instead opting to take one last visit to Illinois — a trip that ended up luring him in.

KU now has 22 known commitments for 2005, including six who already have signed as mid-year transfers and 16 that will sign their letters of intent Wednesday morning. KU will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon to announce the signings.
