The dogÕs deployment came after a series of problems related to the clubÕs patrons, such as two incidents of looters barging into a convenience store after leaving the club and stealing hundreds of dollars worth of beer, snacks and candy. Steffes said he has a good relationship with police but that he was upset enough about the dogÕs presence to ask for a meeting with Police Chief Ron Olin. ÒI said, ÔIf I donÕt sue you, someone else will,ÕÓ Steffes said. ÒThat looked real bad, and it canÕt happen again.Ó

Santa had a relatively easy overnight run through Lawrence- the half-inch of rain and drizzle the area had Saturday had fallen before the evening.

Although Christmas Day started out cloudy, the low clouds are expected to gradually exit bringing sunshine this afternoon, 6News Weather reports.

According to the National Weather Service, there may be areas of fog around Lawrence after 9 p.m. tonight.
