Families in need who have not yet been adopted for the holidays are encouraged to call Douglas County Toys for Tots coordinator Mary Jones at 766-3023.

“We’re getting down to the wire, but we still have time,” Jones said. “We want to get as many toys in as many children’s hands as possible.”

“If anybody knows a family that’s in need, we want to hear from them, too,” Jones said.

Already, Jones said, Toys for Tots has provided gifts for children in more than 500 families in Douglas County.
