KANSAS CITY, KAN. ? A man was killed Wednesday morning when a sports utility vehicle landed on his utility truck as it was stopped in traffic.

Police identified the victim as Steven Sasnett, 47, of Kansas City, Kan.

The accident happened after a southbound car struck the westbound SUV at an intersection. Sasnett was in the stopped truck when the rear of the SUV crashed down on the vehicle.

Police said the car’s driver was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a concussion.

The driver of the SUV and her 12-year-old son were not hurt.

Officers were trying to determine whether either of those drivers ran a red light.
