Old home town – 100 years ago today

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 21, 1905: “In the college of liberal arts at the university, there are now 343 women and 332 men. Last year there were 338 women and 297 men. The women also outnumber the men in the sophomore and junior classes. The freshman class has 119 men and 113 women. : Kansas City’s bank accounts used to be just as large as those of all of Kansas, but now the Kansas deposits are a great deal larger, more than $120 million. This shows that Kansas City isn’t able to work her graft and get as big a part of Kansas’ ready cash as it used to get.”
