N. Illinois clips K-State in OT
Dekalb, Ill. ? Todd Peterson scored 21 points, and Cory Sims added 15, leading Northern Illinois to a 75-70 overtime victory Tuesday night over Kansas State.
Peterson hit seven of 11 field-goal attempts, including four three-pointers, and grabbed six rebounds. Ben Rand added 14 points for the Huskies (5-2), who shot 50 percent from the floor.
Cartier Martin and David Hoskins each scored 15 points for Kansas State (7-2). Akeem Wright added nine points and grabbed seven boards.
Northern led 39-34 at halftime, but Kansas State tied it with a three-pointer in the final seconds to force overtime.
Mike McKinney added 10 points for the Huskies.
Colorado 77, TCU 59
Fort Worth, Texas – Marcus Hall and Richard Roby each scored 17 points to lead Colorado.
Roby scored 15 of his points in the first half, including 11 of the Buffaloes’ first 14 points. Colorado, 7-1 and off to its best start since the 1989-90 season, led throughout the game. The Buffaloes opened the second half with an 11-2 run.
Chris Copeland added 14 points, and Jayson Obazuaye had 13 for the Buffaloes.
Nile Murry led TCU (3-7) with 12 points, and Brent Hackett added 10.
Colorado shot 49 percent from the field, and TCU shot 31 percent. Colorado led 36-27 at the half.
