Holiday Star

Holiday Star

By Beverly Phommasane and Jorica Rapada

Materials needed: Straw, wire

It takes two people to complete this project. Gather up straw. Hold one end of straw bunch, then wrap the wire around the straw to make a point. Do the same to the next four points to make a star. Make tassles by forming straw with wire. To attach the tassles to the bottom of the star, you need 8 inches of wire. Cut it in half to make two wires. Use the wires to connect the tassles to the star.

Fabric Holiday Ornaments

Fabric Holiday Ornaments

By Mikkayla Kunkle

Materials needed: 4-inch Styrofoam balls, 6-inch-long leaf shaped fabric pieces, lace, rick rack, pipe cleaners, tassles, pins,

sequins

Cut six pieces of fabric into 6-inch-long leaf shaped pieces (similar to the pattern on page 2E). Using pins, secure all six pieces of fabric around the Styrofoam ball using pins. For best results, start at the top of the ball and work your way down. Cover the seams with strips of lace, rick rack and/or sequins. Use pipe cleaners for hangers. You can attach a tassle at the bottom. Don’t be afraid to be creative.
