County to consider programs for roads

Road issues are the main agenda items for today’s meeting of the Douglas County Commission. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Mass.

Commissioners will consider a proposal for the county to maintain roads in the Hesper Charter Road Improvement District in Eudora Township.

Commissioners also will consider a “dust palliative” program for 2006. The county in the past has made available to rural residents living adjacent to rock surfaced roads a dust palliative. Fees for the program and costs to the county will be discussed.

Other items for consideration:

¢ Notice to Kanwaka Township Board informing of Clinton Cove Mini Mart’s application to sell cereal malt beverages not to be consumed on the premises.

¢ Out-of-district college tuition statements totaling $78,069.

¢ A license to sell cereal malt beverages not to be consumed on the premises to Flamingo Catering, 1616 East 1550 Road.

¢ Class B club licenses for The Bird of Lawrence, 1616 East 1550 Road, and Paradise Saloon, 1697 U.S. Highway 40.
