To the editor:

On behalf of the Health Care Access board of directors, I would like to thank the Lawrence community for the wonderful support we received during our holiday Tour of Homes fundraiser. The families that opened their homes for the tour and the HCA staff worked and prepared unselfishly to be ready for the event, and their efforts are greatly appreciated.

There are many residents of Lawrence who need assistance with their health care needs and are without the means to meet those needs. It is through community efforts such as this that many are helped. So during this season of giving I sincerely hope that we who are so fortunate to live in a city that recognizes the needs of all its residents will continue to care and provide for those basic necessities that some are lacking.
