The annual Bromelsick Christmas Party will be from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive.

The party will include swimming, music, dancing, a visit from Santa Claus and snacks. All registered Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and 4-H members in Douglas County are invited to attend.

Children must be accompanied by their parent or their troop, den or group leader. Tickets are available from Girl Scout, Boy Scout and 4-H leaders.

¢ The Meadowlark 4-H Club met Nov. 8 at Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The club made tray favors for Meals on Wheels and Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community before the meeting.

The meeting was called to order by Margaret Pendleton. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite Thanksgiving food. The club sang “Happy Birthday” to members who celebrated November birthdays.

New members are Clifton Clay, Shanieka Williams, Casey Williams, Tyler Frazier, Lucus Frazier, Thelma Frazier, Chyenne Frazier, Sarah Rucker, Chloe Burns and Clare Browning.

The club installed the following officers: Margaret Pendleton, president; Amy Magnuson, vice president; Kyle Morgison, co-president; Jamie Morison, secretary; Derby Miller, junior president; Justin Fox, reporter.

The next meeting will be Sunday. The club will meet at 4:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. They will go caroling at the Eudora Nursing Home. They will have a pizza party and gift exchange at Simple Simons Pizza.

¢ The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club met Nov. 14 for a potluck dinner and parents night, when parents of 4-H members conduct the meeting.

Chris Lesser called the meeting to order and the minutes were read by Kim Booth. The club decided on a community service project for December. Each family was to bring canned or boxed items for the Lecompton Food Pantry to the Dec. 12 meeting. The program was given by Mark Wulfkuhle, Rita Lesser and John Hale.

The club plans to go caroling at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
