Santa Fe Trail girls slip past K.C. Ward

? Brooke Pryor had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Sara Weber had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Toni Rutter added 10 points as Santa Fe Trail edged Kansas City Ward, 56-50, in high school girls basketball Tuesday.

Katie Barezinsky pulled down seven rebounds for SFT.

The Chargers (1-2) will entertain Leavenworth Immaculata on Friday.

Gardner-Edgerton 42, De Soto 34

De Soto – Kira Gonzalez’s double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds wasn’t enough to save De Soto.

Jackie Goleman added 10 points for the Wildcats (2-2), who will play host Friday to Shawnee Maranatha.

Boys

K.C. Ward 54, Santa Fe Trail 51

Carbondale – Jake Carter and Curtis Musgrave scored 15 points apiece, but it wasn’t enough to lift Santa Fe Trail past Kansas City Ward.

Santa Fe Trail (1-2) will entertain Leavenworth Immaculata on Friday.

K.C. Piper 63, Perry-Lecompton 48

Perry – Perry-Lecompton couldn’t overcome a 10-point halftime deficit in a loss to Kansas City Piper.

Kyle Morgison led the Kaws with 13 points, and Chris Ketter added 11 points.

The Kaws (0-2) will play Friday at Pleasant Ridge.
