Lawrence police were still searching Monday for the man who robbed the Movie Gallery, 1501 W 6th Street, last night.

According to police, the man entered the business around 9:45 p.m. Sunday and, with his hand in his pocket and a camouflage mask over his face, told a clerk to hand over cash from the register.

Police said that the robber never displayed a gun.

Two employees were working in the store and a customer was browsing for movies when the robbery happened. Police said the customer left the video rental shop before police arrived.

According to police, no one reported which direction the man went or how he was traveling after he left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police asked that anyone with information regarding the robbery call 843-TIPS.

What a chump. Robbing a video store. Get real I mean if you're gonna do 20 years you may as well rob a bank.

No class.

Am I the only one that thinks there is something fishy with this story? I mean, they didn't look at where he was going, AND the only other witness just up and decided to leave?

"Sorry, but I can't help you with that. I gotta get home and watch The Land Before Time 27!"
