Snow-melting temperatures to stick around
December 11, 2005

The snow that remains from last week's winter storm will continue to melt today as the high reaches the upper 40s.
A few clouds should stick around the area, but the bitter cold the area encountered last week will not be returning for a while, with highs at the beginning of the week expected to remain in the low 40s.
At 8:30 a.m., the skies in Lawrence were clear, with a slight west wind and a temperature of 28 degrees.

Yaay! we're above freezing…33.+F!
melt you damned ice!
where the snow melted and refroze last night.
wonder if it'll all be gone by sunset today.
tough on the polar bears though…maybe we need a government program to protect them from the warm melt off?
or, maybe they can just check into the shelter…they'd do less harm to the neighborhood than the current “guests!”

seen what these “guests” do to the downtown, each other, etc.?
never worry about a polar bear committing public lewdness/arson/trashing a bathroom/drugs/drunk/thefts/etc.

Ursus Maritimus is the largest land carnivore, by far. A v-e-e-r-r-y smart beast. Maritimus rules the arctic. It's future is ruled not by hunters (there are damn few of of us), but by global temperatures. 'Timus would devour a liberal, a moderate, or a conservative, all together, with relish. I like that. At around 1700 lbs, and 'Timus can run like the wind, he makes Ursus arctos look like a possum.
Gnome, why don't you take a walk on the beach at Churchill on Hudson Bay sometime. Say, September? Enjoy and “remember to carry enough gun”.
