I always love it when there isn't enough bad weather for schools to be out, but you better believe that a preacher doesn't want to catch a cold and will board up the place on any given day.

Uh parishoners? I can't come to church today, God killed me for not raising 8 million dollars.

We "close" church on Wed. nights when we have bad weather for a very good reason: older members who shouldn't get out in bad weather will always try to go to church even if they shouldn't. By cancelling meetings, you tell people "don't go out". This may not make sense to non-church goers, but when it comes to worship, some people have to be told when it's not good to drive.

Our preacher lives less than a block away. We don't close down for him. We do it for others.

Just because Mirecki got beat up doesn't mean you gotta wear yourself out slamming the religious, Rage. It's not nearly as cute (or, as original) as you think.

Those older churchgoers that have to be told not to go out and drive should not be driving in the first place.
