From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 6, 1905: “Help the treasurer. The rush is beginning at the county treasurer’s office and the next few days will be terribly busy. : The co-partnership previously existing between J.L. Brady and W.C. Simons under the firm name of the World Company has been dissolved by mutual consent. Business of the World will hereafter be transacted by a corporation composed of W.C. Simons, W.H. Carruth, Hugh Means, Olin Bell and J.F. Wilder. Officers of the company are W.C. Simons, president and treasurer, W.H. Carruth, vice president, and Hugh Means, secretary.”
