The Cordley Elementary Chess Tournament will be Saturday at the Kansas Union at Kansas University.

Divisions will be K-12, K-8 and K-6 in a six-round Swiss tournament. Entry fees are $7 for those preregistered by Thursday by e-mailing quailrunchess @sunflower.com and $10 the day of the tournament.

Registration will be from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday on the Union’s fourth-floor lobby. The first round begins at 9:30 a.m. on the fifth floor.

The prizes are trophies for the top three teams in each section, an individual trophy for first place and medals for the next 19 individuals per section.

Lunch is available at the Union Market onsite; please bring boards, sets and clocks.
