Man charged in killings wants trial moved

? Lawyers for a man accused of killing his two young sons say their client can’t get a fair trial in Liberal and have asked for a change of venue.

Robert Fox, 55, has been charged with capital murder in the March 27, 2004, deaths of his sons, Chance Fox, 6, and Rowdy Fox, 4. The boys died in a fire as they slept in their father’s camper.

Fox’s lawyer, Robert Evans, asked for the venue change Friday at a pretrial hearing.

Fox, who was being held in the Seward County Jail on $1 million bond, allegedly killed his sons because of a fight with their mother, Angie Gardner, and her parents, according to preliminary hearing testimony.
