Den 4 of Cub Scout Pack 3462 is working on its Webelos rank. While focusing on Fitness and Citizen Activity Pins, they also earned the Astronomy Belt Loop by attending a presentation by the Astronomy Club at Kansas University. The Cubs also attended a campfire, where they roasted hot dogs over an open fire at the home of Rod Zinn, den leader. Cubs in Den 4 are: Garrett Frank, A.J. Ware, Garrett Weeks, Matt Carmody, Thomas Peterson, Dakota Zinn, Vail Moshiri and Hunter Ross.

¢ Baldwin Boy Scout Troop 65 concluded its late summer and early fall camping season with a Court of Honor on Nov. 21 at the Black Jack Cabin, east of town.

During the ceremony, Scouts and Scouters received 196 camping beads, which are color-coded according to camping conditions: four red for attending Camp Theodore Naish Scout Reservation in the summer, 80 green for fair weather camping with temperatures above 39 degrees, 20 black for rain, 28 blue for temperatures below 39 degrees, and 64 wood for Webelos Woods participation.

Troop 65 members also received six service stars, six rank advancements and one merit badge. Several patches were passed out for participation in Scouting for Food, Webelos Woods 2005 and Camp Naish.

Among Scouts who received awards were: Trey Anderson, Second Class rank; Alex Coffey, Star rank; Jake Hogsett, personal management merit badge; Ryan Hundley, Tenderfoot rank; Kyle Pattrick, Tenderfoot rank; Sam Richards, Star rank; James Simmons, Life rank; Colby Soden, Second Class rank.

Adult Scouters who received awards or recognition were: Jerry Brown, 41-year service pin; Barbara Coffey, three-year service pin; Robert Lawrenz, seven-year service pin; John Richards, five-year service star; and Mark Shuck, 11-year service star.
