The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club's Aug. 17 game was directed by Virginia Seaver. Six and a half tables played a stratified Mitchell movement. The North-South pairs were led by Doris Stubeck and Phyllis Brownlee who took first in A. Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges were second in A. Harriet Olson and Linda Heavin won first in B.

Wanna Roszel and Bebe Huxtable won first in A and B among the East-West pairs. Carol Ball and Chuck Hedges were second in A, followed by Lois Clark and Patt Radford.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club played seven full tables in a stratified Mitchell movement. The Aug. 17 game was directed by Don Brennaman.

Virginia Seaver and Mary Beth Treece won first in A and B, leading the North-South pairs. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty took second in A and B and first in C. John and Shirley Reese were third in A and B and second in C.

Dick Moore and Barbara McCorkle led the East-West pairs, winning first in A, B and C. Deb Bettinger and Shari Krentzel won second in all three strata, and Albert Ballard Jr. and Emily Foster were third.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club's Aug. 19 game was directed by Don Brennaman. Ten tables played a stratified Mitchell movement.

Sally Taylor and Patt Radford were first in A, sitting North-South. Bob Anderson and Betty Spalsbury won second in A and first in B and C, followed by Kent McCullough and Chuck Hedges who took third in A. Shirley Reese and Chris Lane were second in B, and Gladys Rivard and Janice Hollowell won second in C.

Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell led the East-West pairs winning first in A and B. Klee Zaricky and Virginia Seaver were second in A and Don Daugherty and Harry Talley won first in C, second in B and third in A. Bob Dailey and Clara Elkins, of Emporia, were second in C.

¢ The Sunday Afternoon Bridge Club played its monthly Swiss team game directed by Jerry Sloan.

The six teams were led by Jeff Nash, Lois Jones, Dorothy Netson and Barbara Merriam, of Topeka. Second place went to Lester and Julia Dalton, Mary Fenlon and Mary White, of Leavenworth. Chris Lane, Virginia Seaver and Chuck and Yvonne Hedges were third.

Team games are played on the third Sunday of every month.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played 12 tables in a stratified Mitchell movement directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South pairs were led by Jerry Sloan and Patt Radford who won first in A, followed by Harry Shaffer and James Zhang who were second in A. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks won first in B and third in A. Chris Lane and Shirley Reese were second in B, and Lynn Hui and Terry Tolar were third. Pat Burgstahler and Margrete Hartman won first in C.

Mike and Cathy Blumenfeld led the East-West pairs, winning first in A, B and C. Barbara Merriam and Ruth Amsbaugh, of Topeka, were second in A and B. Mary Beth Treece and Mary Joyce were second in C and third in A and B. Emily Foster and Harriet Olson won third in C.

All games are played at the Kaw Valley Bridge Center in the I-70 Business Center. Evening games start at 6:45, Wednesday and Friday afternoon games start at 12:30, and the Sunday game starts at 1 p.m.

¢ University Bridge Club announces the results of its Aug. 20 game. Hosts were Tom and Cathy Waller, Gladys Dight and Jean Khatib.

Blue winners were: Dale Kring, first; Willie Stoltenberg, second; Paul Jordan, third; Bebe Huxtable, fourth; and Al Smith, fifth.

Pink winners were: Carol Smith, first; Carolyn Jordan, second; Wanda Kring, third; Edna Galle, fourth; and Mona Langlois, fifth.
