Isolated thunderstorms possible

Wet weather expected through Friday

Get set for a few damp day, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“Keep the umbrella handy,” Schack, said. “”A quick heavy downpour is the main concern for anything developing this afternoon.”

At 4:15 p.m., the temperature at Lawrence Municipal Airport was 73 degrees, with light rain, a humidity of 81 percent and east winds at 10 mph.

Today’s high will top out at 81 degrees, Schack said.

Overnight, there’s a continued chance for isolated thunderstorms, with the low dropping to 65 degrees by early Wednesday morning, she said.

Wednesday’s high will reach 79 degrees, with cloudy skies and a continued chance for scattered thunderstorms, she said.

“We also have a chance to get wet for Thursday and Friday,” Schack said.

Thursday’s morning low will be 69 degrees, with the high reaching 84 by Thursday afternoon. Friday’s low will be 69 and Friday’s high will be 86 degrees.
