Marsha Fowler and Norma Leary, members of the Pilot Club of Lawrence, attended the Pilot International/Pilot International Foundation annual meeting and convention July 13-16 in St. Louis.

In addition to business meetings and workshops, they took part in the PIF Walk, a fundraiser to increase awareness of brain injury and brain injury prevention. Guest speakers included Mark Mayfield, a "corporate comedian," and Cynthia D'Amour, an author and lifestyle coach.

¢ The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club's Aug. 10 game was directed by Virginia Seaver. Eight full tables of competitors played a stratified game with a Mitchell movement. The North-South pairs were led by Suzanne Wassmer and Wanda Durbin who took first in A. Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges were second in A followed by Chris Lane and Julia Brooks who won third. Lois Clark and Cathy Blumenfeld won first in B.

Madelyn Jenks and Virginia Seaver were first in A among the East-West pairs, and Mona Bell and Carol Ball were second in A and first in B. Helen and Robert Huffman won third in A and second in B.

¢ The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club's Aug. 10 game was directed by Don Brennamen. Five tables of competitors played a Mitchell movement. Barb and Bill Hamilton won first in A and B among the North-South pairs. Virginia Seaver and Mary Beth Treece were second in A.

Helen and Robert Huffman were first in A and B playing East-West. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won second in A and B, followed by Shari Krentzel and Deb Bettinger who were third in A and B.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club's Aug. 12 game was directed by Don Brennaman. Nine and a half tables of participants played a stratified Mitchell movement. Gladys Rivard and Janice Hollowell placed first in A, B and C at North-South. Betty Spalsbury and Bob Anderson were second in A, B and C. Judy and Jay Hildreth won third in A.

Shirley Reese and Yvonne Hedges led the East-West pairs by winning first in A. Lois Clark and Harry Shaffer were second in A, followed by Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks who were third in A and first in B. Gary and Mary Joyce were fourth in A, second in B and first in C.

¢ The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement with 11 and a half tables. The game was directed by Virginia Seaver.

North-South pairs were led by Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks who won first in A and B. Chris Lane and Curt Soloff were second in A, followed by Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough. Harry Shaffer and Terry Tolar won fourth in A and second in B. Lester and Julia Dalton were fifth in A and third in B. The C pairs were led by Betty Spalsbury and Robert Anderson.

The East-West pairs were led by Dorothy Netson and Barbara Merriam who won first in A and B. Jeremy Martin and Don Brennaman were second in A and B. Paul Heitzman and Virginia Seaver won third in A. Jeff Nash and Lois Jones were fourth. Sally Taylor and Shirlie Vaughn were third in B. Grant Sutton and Anne Thompson won first in C.
